Springtime Gardening
As said in a previous post, springtime has drawn us out into the garden. We've turned some new beds, erected a perimetre fence, and planted out some potted vines. We have two varieties of raspberry; an autumn and a spring fruiting. Strawberries will be added to after I have been to the local nursery. We intend to get the cultivated blackberries also. The three pots of blueberries are yet to be planted out. It was suggested to leave them a little longer in their pots.
Herbs are going to play a big part in the garden this season. With spring onions and mint established, and climbing peas over the chook shed, we still have a fair way to go. Parsley, chives, dock, along with silverbeet and spinach, lettuce, and of course, carrots. (Our address is Carrot Farm Road, so we know they'll grow!)
Wallaby Scrub Market Gardens...? Maybe not, but I know we'll have a lot of fun in the garden this spring and summer.
